Correspondent for Nordic and Baltic States , NZZ
Dr Rudolf Hermann was born in Zurich in 1958. After his training as a primary school teacher, he studied Slavonic and English in Zurich and spent time studying in London and Prague. In 1990, he was an editor in the German-language short-wave service of Radio Prague. From 1991 onwards, he filed political reports from Czechoslovakia and its successor states to the Swiss newspaper NZZ, as a freelancer. From 1995 onwards, he worked for the NZZ as a correspondent for Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania. In 2002, he transferred to the foreign desk in Zurich. From 2003 onwards, he reported from Sydney as a correspondent for politics and business for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. From 2008 to 2014, he was the correspondent for eastern and central Europe in Prague. Since 2015, he has been responsible for reporting on the Nordic and Baltic states at the NZZ.
